Fellow Coffee 啡樂咖啡 is a small but focused café tucked into a quiet lane in Taipei’s Zhongshan District, known for putting Taiwanese coffee beans front and center — especially the prized Alishan varieties. It’s an ideal spot if you appreciate carefully crafted, hand-poured coffee and want to explore local coffee culture away from the usual chains.

The café’s atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, with a clean, minimalist interior that invites you to settle in for a calm afternoon. It’s the kind of place where regulars and curious travelers alike linger over multiple cups, often pairing their coffee with a slice of the dense, layered chocolate cake or a light cheesecake from the small selection of sweets. The staff’s knowledgeable approach helps demystify different coffee preparations, and they’re patient explaining brewing methods and bean types — handy if you want to savor your coffee in the way that suits your palate best.

Visitors will notice that Fellow Coffee highlights local coffees not just through the beans they serve but also in the variety of ways they present them: multiple temperature options for pour-overs and distinct drinking glasses help shape the flavor experience, making it clear this is a spot for coffee enthusiasts who want to experiment and learn.

The space itself isn't wheelchair accessible and has just a couple of shallow steps at the entrance, so it's best suited for those who can navigate a few stairs. There’s no restroom on-site, reinforcing its vibe as a true neighborhood spot where people typically come for a shorter break rather than extended stays.

Best times to visit are afternoon hours on weekends or early weekdays when the café is quiet enough to enjoy some focused sipping without rush. Locals often use this café as a cozy refuge to unwind before heading out for evening plans in the area. If you’re here on a weekend, you might find the owners opening a bottle of wine, adding a subtle, unexpected twist to the usual coffee shop experience.

  • Best for: Those seeking high-quality Taiwanese coffee experiences, especially Alishan beans
  • Atmosphere: Quiet, minimal, relaxed; suitable for solo visitors or small groups
  • Ideal visit time: Weekend afternoons or slow weekday mornings
  • Considerations: Small entry steps, no restroom, hands-on barista engagement

Definitely a solid five stars coffee and red wines Café. The owners are simply love coffee and wines . Absolutely enjoyable! Love to spend a Saturday afternoon to enjoy their refined handcraft coffee and maybe open a bottle of French wine before your dinner.

Great little cafe in the side streets. That is the only good mocha I have found anywhere in southeast Asia. It is Rich, rich and creamy and actually mix well and the cafe looks really nice inside if I don't have any food really but good drink s It does have two steps to get up into and no bathroom so not really a wheelchair accessible place but if you come here with someone who can get it for you or wave at them it works

Its tough to find coffee shops that carry taiwan coffee beans these days, due to the rapid increase in prices of taiwan coffee beans the past ten years. This place carry not one but two different types of taiwan coffee beans. They also serve their pour over in three different temperatures and drinking glasses, to allow you to adjust and best enjoy which ever method you prefer.

Exceptional knowledge and service from the barista. Despite your language barrier they took their time to explain to me the different type of coffees. I had the poured coffee, first ever experience for myself and I am a fan. They also played with my toddler so that I could enjoy the experience. My son didn’t finish his milk, they even poured it into a take away cup for him. A must visit for everyone

Best place for Alishan coffee! I've tried Alishan coffees at tradeshows and around Taipei, but this place made the best cup. The barista told me her father roasted the coffee.

Fellow Coffee isn't just a cafe... They import their own coffee beans from around the world and roast their own coffee beans. They have 2 espresso blends that are more acidic or more bitter to fit a broader audience. The more bitter espresso blend is my favorite!
